Tasha B. Penny
NATIONAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Tasha B. Penny serves as National Program Director of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. She has served as the past Far West Regional Director (2021-2023) and served as the Far West Region Foundation Member-at- Large (2019-2021). Tasha is a legacy member of Jack and Jill, having graduated out of the Contra Costa County Chapter, CA in 1992. Tasha joined the Los Angeles Chapter as a mother member where she has served in a variety of leadership roles including chapter vice president.
Tasha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and a Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. Tasha practiced law as a litigator for nearly 20 years in the areas of Family Law, Criminal Law and Workers’ Compensation. Most of Tasha’s career was spent at The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office as a Deputy City Attorney, where she was a lead prosecutor for the criminal branch. Tasha left the legal arena to spend more time with her family and develop other areas of interest. Tasha was the legal consultant for the Emmy nominated and Award winning HBO Comedy “Insecure” for all five seasons. Presently, Tasha is a Creative Executive with A Penny for Your Thoughts Entertainment where she has developed and sold projects to entities such as Netflix.
As a resident of Los Angeles, Tasha has actively served her community by volunteering her time with Big Sunday, The LA Mission, L.A. Works, and the Alameda County Food Bank. Tasha has held memberships in the Junior League of Los Angeles, Angel City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Tasha has been married to her husband, Prentice, for over 20 years. Together, they are parents to Nathanael, Aubrey and Benjamin.
